How to Choose the Right Hand for Your Wedding Ring?
Since you’re already engaged and the big day approaches, you’re pondering where to place your wedding ring during or after the reception.
Let’s find out.
Of course you probably heard from someone that the ring has to be worn on the fourth finger (also known as the wedding ring finger) on the left hand. It is because there runs a vein connected to the heart. So wearing it there means that you love your spouse. Well now since we know that all our fingers have the same connection to the heart this belief is a bit out of date.
Left Hand
In some countries, it is common to be worn on the left like for example certain parts of the United States, of Western and Eastern Europe.
Right Hand
It is based more on religion. People who wear it on the right hand usually are situated in some Orthodox and Catholic European countries. May be some Protestant Western European, as well as some Central and South American Catholic countries.
On Right and Left
There are countries that actually wear it on the right hand and during the ceremony, they move it to the left and leave it there.
In other countries, the groom wears it on the right and the bride is supposed to wear it on the left.
In others, only the bride has to wear it and the groom does not.
If you want to follow the tradition then I would advise you to check what is common.
